John Singer Sargent study part 3

Moved on to the face now. Still a long way to go but atleast the colours aren't as muddy as I thought they would be.

Learning alot about my work flow through this study. I honestly did not think I would get this far. Must continue. If I can grasp this then I will have made a huge step forward.

John Singer Sargent study part 2

Blocked out some basic shades. Kind of pleased in the direction this is going. Need to add darker shades the the skin but at very least we have somewhat of a 3d form developing.

John Singer Sargent Study

A good artist friend of mine improved his skills by trying to copy specific classic artists. Unfortunately I can only remember one of the artists he studied from (John Singer Sargent) but nether the less I figured that the rest of today (or maybe the week) would be focused on one of his paintings.

This pieces is going to be one of his self portraits. Not really looking forward to his other studies but if it helps me become a stronger artists I will have a go.

I have begun by laying down the base colours and blending the background. No vector shapes were used in the making of this image. To see the original source visit wikipidia an type in John Singer Sargent.

quick sketch

Just a quick sketch. Wanted to try shading and just wanted to mess around.

1 hour manga pose studies

Some quick studies from posemaniacs. Trying to get anatomy correct along with shading. The rough time taken on the set was around 1 hour. Quick gestures were done in around 1 minute followed by line art then colour. I am pleased with the effect but still got a long way to go.

Perspective is still a bit of a bugger so I may focus on that tonight.

Anyway here is the image

Quick sketches

Fashion Sketch

This image took me about a day. I needed to practice clothing so I went to next.co.uk and draw one of the models. This was done in photoshop so no vector lines which is out of my comfort zone.
